アメリカの3人組パンクロックバンド グリーン・デイの6thアルバム「Warning」の表題曲です。

同アルバムからの2枚目のシングルとしても、2000年12月にリリースされました。

アルバムを象徴するような、落ち着いたテンポと聴き易いサウンド、社会風刺が効いた歌詞が特徴的な曲です。

歌詞の意味と解釈

「警告」というタイトル通り、歌詞では紋切り型の警告文句が並べられています。

それは、パンクロックを聴くリスナーに対する「警告」にもなっていますが、この曲の一番の警告は「警告なんて気にせず生きろ」という事です。

「権力側に都合の良い “警告" を鵜呑みにして生きる一般人」に込められた皮肉は、次作「American Idiot」へ発展していったと思われます。
