言葉の意味・解説
・black dog ブラック・ドッグ。「黒い犬」という意味の他、「憂鬱、うつ病」の意味もあります。

父から息子へ、物語を聞かせるような曲です。
一つの解釈として頭に浮かぶのは「戦争」です。戦争に行った父親が、息子に戦場の惨状を聞かせる歌。そんな捉え方をすると、比喩的な表現が恐ろしさを増し、激しい雨とは爆弾かもしれないですし、血かもしれません。
