・rusholme ラスホルム。イギリスの都市マンチェスターの中央寄りに位置する地区。
・ruffians 悪党、ならず者。
・devout 信心深い、誠実な、敬虔な
・waltzer ワルツァー。遊園地にある回転木馬のような乗り物

雑記
ファンフェア（fun-fair）と呼ばれる移動式遊園地が舞台となっているようです。楽し気な曲調とは裏腹に、意味深げな歌詞です。現代の日本人にはなかなかイメージしづらい設定ですが、縁日や花火大会のようなものでしょうか。当時のイギリスの人々（子供たち）にとって、フェアはとても楽しみな出来事だったのかもしれません。
また、タイトルのラスホルムはマンチェスターの一地区の事ですが、”悪党”とは何を指すのでしょうか？ 安っぽい遊園地で子供たちに薄っぺらい夢を与えるフェアに対する批判でしょうか？ いやな思い出があるのかもしれません。
