スウェーデンの世界的ポップグループアバの5thアルバム「The Album」(1977年) に収録されている曲です。

同アルバムの2枚目のシングルとして、1978年1月にリリースされました。

歌詞の意味と和訳

「テイク・ア・チャンス」という言葉は、"賭けてみる“という意味です。
（chanceには、日本語で使われるチャンスの意味もありますが、"冒険"という意味もあります）

ですので、タイトルの「テイク・ア・チャンス・オン・ミー」を直訳すると"私に賭けてみて“となります。

ただ、歌詞の内容は「賭けでもいいから一度私と付き合って」というような、かなり食い下がり気味の恋愛ソングですので、そういう意味では(文法的に正確でないとしても) 「私にチャンスをちょうだい」という意味が、しっくりくると思います（下の和訳では、両方使ってみました）。
