フー・ファイターズ – ベスト・オブ・ユー

元Nirvanaのドラマー デイヴ・グロールを中心に結成したバンド フー・ファイターズの、5作目のアルバム「In Your Honor」に収録されている曲です。

同アルバムのリードシングルとして、2005年5月にリリースされました。

サビの部分の「ザ・ベスト！　ザ・ベスト！　ザ・ベスト・オブ・ユー」という、デイヴの熱いシャウトが印象的な曲です。

歌詞の意味と解釈

タイトル「ベスト・オブ・ユー」は、そのまま訳すと"君の最高“となります。

しかし、歌詞にもある get the best of には"打ち負かす“等の意味があります。

ここでは両方の意味を意図的にミックスしたものと解釈し、「君のベストを打ち負かそうとするヤツに屈するな」という、熱いメッセージが込められた曲として、訳させていただきました。

歌詞の中での You と I の立場があいまいな為、幅広い解釈ができます。
この曲はリスナーに向けたものとも、別れた恋人に向けたものとも、亡くなった友人に向けたものとも考える事ができます。
